The OE design delivers readings sent from a magnetic float on a plastic shaft that is vulnerable to the engine compartment vibrations typical of stop-and-go use refuse trucks and other short-haul applications. Continuous jostling of the sensor assembly and limited float range can generate fault codes. This Dorman OE FIX solution more consistently and accurately monitors coolant levels. It features a magnetic float with a much larger sweep area to more accurately sense actual coolant fluid levels. A rigid stainless steel shaft potted with epoxy prevents failures from coolant ingress. Additionally, a separate harness attached to the connector allows for simplified installation by removing the need to index the OEM sensor.
